Centre Court Indoor has 6 junior pennant teams playing on Saturday mornings. All teams are doing really well and enjoying their tennis. So far the teams have played 11 rounds and are nearing the end of the season and the finals. We have 3 teams inside the top 4 and 2 teams not far behind.
Section 4 Boys
These boys have had a very tight season with some close matches. Two draws and a few wins leave them in 6th position on the ladder. They can make a late dash for finals in the last rounds of the season. Go boys!
Section 10 boys – Centre Court Blue
They are having a spectacular season having lost only one match against Centre Court White. They currently enjoy top spot on the ladder and are one step closer to playing finals, hopefully with a double chance.
Section 10 Boys – Centre Court White
Their season has been very even with 5 wins and 6 losses. They are also in with a finals chance sitting in 6th position on the ladder after 11 rounds.
Section 11 Girls – Centre Court Blue
The Blue girls have placed themselves just inside the top 4 and have a good chance of playing finals this year. Their season has been very even with 5 wins and 6 losses with many of their matches being really close. They are still hot contenders to make the finals.
Section 11 Girls – Centre Court White
The Centre Court White team have played very well this season to secure 6th position on the ladder but only 6 points away from 4th spot and a chance at the finals.
Section 17 Mixed
This team has never played pennant before and they have had an outstanding season. They currently hold 3rd position on the ladder with 8 wins and 3 losses. They will make the finals if they can keep playing well for the remainder of the season.
All teams are in with a chance of making finals, congratulations to the teams already in the top 4 of their section. For those teams not far behind, keep playing your best, but most of all make sure you have fun out on court with your team regardless of the result.

Grade 1 Men
After an injury plagued season, they have won 3 matches in a row and are now sitting only 1 point out of the top 4. After just beating the top side on the weekend, they take a lot of confidence into the last 2 rounds.
Grade 2 Men
After a slow start to the season, this team has won every match since losing their first two. Winning the past 9 matches places them on top of the ladder and a great chance to host a final. The last round against 2nd place RSY will decide who finishes on top.
Grade 3 Men
This team has flourished all season currently sitting in 2nd and 20 points ahead of 3rd. They have a guaranteed home final and for most of the players a first finals appearance. They play the top side over the next two weeks, which will decide top spot.
Grade 5 Men
They are currently sitting 8th but throughout the season this team has shown great improvement. They won their first match in round 9 and are still a mathematical chance of making finals. Half the team are playing Melbourne Pennant for the first time so they will gain a lot of experience out of this season.
Grade 1 Women
After a very strong start to the season, the girls are clear in 3rd position of the ladder with 2 rounds to go. They are only 4 points from 2nd and 5 points from number 1 position. The girls will be able to secure a home final with a good run against Dendy Park and bottom placed Grace Park in the final weeks of the season.
Grade 3 Women
Most of the girls in this team have never played Melbourne Pennant before but that inexperience hasn’t stopped them having an outstanding season. They are sitting in 4th position with 2 rounds to go and have secured their first ever finals appearance.
